In-house

Surface grinding.

Recent investment in a Jones and Shipman 540L has given us capabilities for surface grinding of components up to 460x150x230mm.

Automatic de-burring.

A fully automatic Rosler de-burring centre allows parts to be de-burred, washed and dried with minimum labour input.

Powder blasting.

Powder blasting is an ideal compliment to the Rosler de-burrer to remove final traces of burrs. It will also provide a good uniform finish prior to plating or painting. There are several Guyson powder blasters with cyclone separation on-site.

CAD CAM.

Currently we use EdgeCAM. Acceptable file formats include proE, igs, dxf and dwg. General drawing file formats such as pdf, bmp, tif and dwf can also be read for quotation purposes.

Inspection.

Our fully equipped inspection department includes a new Tesa Microhite CMM. All tools and gauges are regularly calibrated to ISO or UKAS standards.

Out-sourced

Materials.

MPE have suppliers for all manner of materials from aircraft to comercial grades. Usual materials include stainless, aluminium, copper, brass and plastics. Less usual are Kovar, Invar and Nickel Copper alloys. All suppliers are controlled through an approved supplier list.

Finishes.

We have excellent ties with suppliers of finishes including zinc, RoHS compliant chrome alternatives, painting, anodising and precious metal coating. Inspection reports can be supplied upon request.

Specialist processes.

Especially important for aerospace customers are processes such as NDT testing, heat treatment, oxygen component cleaning, plating to NADCAP standards and component bagging. All of these processes are available to us through proven suppliers.

Sheet metal.

Sheet metal parts required to compliment machined parts can be provided through several capable suppliers.

Proprietary part purchase.

Should you require proprietary parts such as helicoil inserts, nuts bolts etc. These parts can be purchased and supplied to customer specification.
